Type host: Erythrura trichroa (Kittlitz) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ). Type locality: Spain.
FEMALE (holotype and 6 paratypes). Total body length 550–580. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum punctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2–3 chambers, each lateral branch with 8–11 chambers. Stylophore apunctate, 150 long. Movable cheliceral digit 110–115 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield apunctate, weakly sclerotized, striae visible. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:1:5.4–6. Setae vi, ve and si slightly ornamented. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, weakly sclerotized in middle part, apunctate. Setae d2 and e2 subequal in length. Setae h1 and f1 subequal in length. Length ratio of setae ag1: ag2: ag3 2:1:2.8. Both pairs of pseudanal setae subequal in length. Genital plate absent. Both pairs of genital setae subequal in length. Coxal fields I–IV sparsely punctate. Setae 3c 3 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6–7 tines. Length ratio of setae tc’III–IV: tc”III–IV 1:1.7. Length of setae: vi 20–25, ve 20–25, si 130–150, se 170–180, c1 170–200, c2 150, d1 105–125, d2 125–140, e2 105–125, h1 20, h2 305, f1 20, f2 215–220, ps1 and ps2 12, g1 and g2 15–20, ag1 85– 90, ag2 45–50, ag3 125–150, tc’III–IV 30–35, tc”III–IV 50, 3b 20, 3c 60–65, l’RIII 25–30, l’RIV 15–20.
MALE. Unknown.
Type material examined. Erythrura trichroa (Kittlitz) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ): female holotype and 14 female paratypes ( AMU –SYR.57) (sec.); SPAIN, Tenerife, 1874, no other data. Host specimen deposited in the
MNHW.
Type material deposition. Holotype deposited in the AMU, paratypes in the AMU, ZISP and ZSM.
Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of secondary feathers of Erytrura trichroa .
Distribution. Spain.
