Type host: Lanius excubitor ( Passeriformes : Laniidae ). Type locality: Slovakia.

FEMALE (holotype and 5 paratypes). Total body length 600–635. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum and stylophore punctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2–3 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–9 chambers. Length of stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 150–170 and 120 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield apunctate, weakly sclerotized, striae visible. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:2:4. Setae vi, ve and si slightly ornamented. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, punctate in anterior part. Setae d2 slightly (1.2 times) longer than e2. Setae f1 and h1 subequal in length. Length ratio of setae ag1: ag2: ag3 1:1:1.2–1.3. Setae ps2 1.7 times longer than ps1. Both pairs of genital setae subequal in length. Genital plate weakly sclerotized, setae ag2 and ag3 situated on margin of this plate. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Setae 3c twice as long as 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 8 tines. Length ratio of setae tc’III–IV: tc”III–IV 1:1.2. Lengths of setae: vi 50, ve 95–120, si 205, se 230–245, c1 245–265, c2 210–255, d1 175–185, d2 180–195, e2 155–160, f1 30–40, f2 310–350, h1 30–40, h2 375–405, ps1 15–20, ps2 25–30, g1 and g2 35–45, ag1 150–180, ag2 155–170, ag3 215–250, 3b 50, 3c 100–110, l’RIII 55–65, tc’III–IV 50–60, tc”III–IV 95–75.

MALE (3 paratypes). Total body length 435–470. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2–3 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–9 chambers. Stylophore apunctate, 145 long. Movable cheliceral digit 115 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield weakly sclerotized, apunctate, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si, se and c1. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:2:4. Hysteronotal shield, weakly sclerotized, not fused to pygidial shield. Setae d2 1.8–2.5 times longer than d1 and e2. Pygidial shield apunctate, setae f2 and h2 situated on this shield. Setae h2 9.5 times longer than f2. Setae g1 situated slightly anterior to level of setae g2, both subequal in length. Both pairs of pseudanal setae subequal in length. Setae ag1 longer than ag2. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Setae 3c twice as long as 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6–8 tines. Length ratio of setae tc’III–IV: tc”III–IV 1:1.3. Lengths of setae: vi 30–35, ve 55–60, se 170–180, c1 <180, c2 120–140, d1 20, d2 35–50, e2 25, f2 30, h2 285, ag1 <160, ag2 70–105, 3b 30, 3c 65, l’RIII 40, tc’III–IV 30, tc”III–IV 40.

Type material examined. Lanius excubitor Linnaeus ( Passeriformes : Laniidae ): female holotype, 10 female paratypes and 5 male paratypes ( AMU –SYR54) (cov.); SLOVAKIA, Bardejov , 22 March 1966, coll. T. Weisz.

Type material deposition. Holotype deposited in the AMU, paratypes in the AMU, ZISP, SMB and USIMC.

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of covert feathers of Lanius excubitor .

Distribution. Slovakia.
