Type host: Lullula arborea (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Alaudidae ). Type locality: Slovakia. FEMALE (holotype and 8 paratypes). Total body length 715–810. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex with pair of billlike, blunt ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–5 chambers, each lateral branch with 4– 5 chambers. Stylophore constricted posteriorly, apunctate. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield slightly concave on anterior margin, densely punctate on whole surface. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:2:3. Setae c2 situated anterior to level of setae se. Hysteronotal shields present, sparsely punctate, bases of setae d1 near this shield. Pygidial shield apunctate, with rounded anterior margin. Setae f1 and h1 short and subequal in length. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Setae 3b and 3c subequal in length. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 10–11 tines. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III and IV subequal in length. Lengths of setae: vi 60–85, ve 100–130, si 200, se 185–225, c1 235–255, c2 225–260, d1 160–195, d2 145–160, e2 160, f1 50–65, f2 420–555, h1 60–70, h2 480–605, ps1 and ps2 25–30, g1 and g2 40–55, l’RI 30–40, l’RII 55–70, l’RIII 70–85, l’RIV 70–80, tc’III–IV 60–70, tc”III–IV 60–70, 3b 80–95, 3c 95–115.
MALE (1 paratype). Total body length 645. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex with pair of short and blunt-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–5 chambers, each lateral branch with 4–5 chambers. Stylophore apunctate. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield concave on anterior margin, apunctate. Length ratio of setae ve:si 1:1.5. Hysteronotal shield apunctate, bearing bases of setae d1, e2, f2 and h2. Setae d2 slightly longer (1.2 times) than e2. Setae h2 4 times longer than f2. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Legs. Fan-like seta p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6–9 tines. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III and IV subequal in length. Lengths of setae: ve 90, si 135, se 145, c1 120, c2 150, d1 30, d2 25, h2 120, f2 35, l’RI 25, l’RII 30, l’RIII 80, l’RIV 45, tc’III–IV 60, tc”III–IV 60.
Type material examined. Lullula arborea (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Alaudidae ): female holotype and paratypes: 12 females, 1 male ( AMU –SYR. 5) (sec.); SLOVAKIA, Zlate , 9 April 1960, coll. T. Weisz.
Type material deposition. Holotype deposited in the AMU, paratypes in the AMU and ZISP.
Non-type material examined. Eremophila alpestris (Linnaeus) ( Alaudidae ): 3 females ( AMU –SYR.175) (sec.); RUSSIA, Wladikovkov , 1911, no other data. Host specimen deposited in the MNHW .
Material deposition. All material deposited in the AMU.
Host range and habitat. Oligoxenous species inhabiting quills of secondaries of two alaudid ( Alaudidae ) species: Lullula arborea and Eremophila alpestris.
Distribution. Slovakia and Russia.
