Type host: Carduelis chloris (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Fringillidae ). Type locality: Kirghizia.
FEMALE (6 specimens from type host species from Poland). Total body length 900–1180. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Hypostomal apex with pair of short and sharp-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 3–4 chambers, each lateral branch with 9–11 chambers. Length of apunctate stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 240–245 and 170 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sculptured laterally, punctate near bases of setae ve and si, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1, setae se on or near this shield. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:2:3.5–4. Setae se and c1 located at same transverse level or setae se situated slightly anterior to level of setae c1. Hysteronotal shields absent. Small pygidial shield punctate, anterior margin indiscernible. Genital setae shorter than aggenital setae ag1 and ag3. Length ratio of setae g1:ag2 1:2.5–3. Setae ag1 1.3 times longer than ag2. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Setae 3c 1.5 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 11–13 tines. Setae tc” of legs III and IV 1.5 times longer than tc’III–IV. Apodemes I fused to apodemes II in middle part of apodemes II. Lengths of setae: vi 60, ve 90–130, si 195–220, se 240–295, c1 305–325, c2 255–295, d1 215– 280, d2 215–275, e2 255–280, f1 80, f2 375, h1 80, ps1 and ps2 45, g1 and g2 60–70, ag1 200–220, ag2 160–180, ag3 300–370, l’RIII 40–60, l’RIV 45, tc’III–IV 65, tc”III–IV 90–100, 3b 105–130, 3c 145–190.
MALE (2 specimens from type host species from Poland). Total body length 610–700. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex rounded. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–5 chambers, each lateral branch with 9–10 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sculptured laterally, punctate near bases of setae ve and si, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1, setae se on or near this shield. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1.2:5. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, weakly sclerotized, apunctate. Setae d2 2–3 times longer than e2. Setae h2 7–8 times longer than f2. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 9–10 tines. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III and IV subequal in length. Lengths of setae: vi 30, ve 40, si 145, se 210, c1 135–185, c2 200–215, d1 25–30, d2 55, e2 25 –30, h2 265, f2 30–40, ag1 100–125, ag2 80–105, ag3 80–130, l’RIII 45–50, l’RIV 40, tc’III–IV and tc”III–IV 25–30.

Host range and habitat. Oligoxenous species inhabiting primary and secondary feathers of fringillid hosts: Carduelis cannabina , C. carduelis , C. chloris and Rhodospiza obsoleta (in Palaearctic region).
Distribution. Palaearctic: England, Poland, Russia, Jordan and Kirghizia.
