Type host: Hirundo rustica Linnaeus ( Passeriformes : Hirundinidae ). Type locality: Poland.
FEMALE (holotype and 8 paratypes). Total body length 1275–1340. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum and stylophore sparsely punctate. Hypostomal apex with 2 pairs of protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 3–4 chambers, each lateral branch with 11–13 chambers. Length of stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 285 and 190–200 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sculptured and punctate on lateral bands, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si, se and c1. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:2:3–3.5. Setae se and c1 situated at same transverse level or setae se set slightly anterior to level of setae c1. Pair of hysteronotal shields present, sparsely punctate. Pygidial shield punctate. Genital setae shorter than aggenital setae ag1 and ag3. Length ratio of setae g1:ag2 1:4.5. Setae ag1 and ag2 subequal in length. Coxal fields I–IV sparsely punctate. Setae 3c 1.3–1.5 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 14 tines. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III and IV subequal in length. Apodemes I fused to apodemes II in middle part of apodemes II. Lengths of setae: vi 145–180, ve 290–345, si 455– 575, se 485–530, c1 430–495, c2 465–555, d1 470–485, d2 445–490, e2 445–515, f1 130–170, f2 515–575, h1 120–175, h2 515–580, ps1 and ps2 55, g1 and g2 60–70, ag1 335–405, ag2 325–330, ag3 405–475, l’RIII and l’RIV 60–70, tc’III–IV and tc”III–IV 120–140, 3b 160–180, 3c 160–180.

Type material examined. Hirundo rustica Linnaeus ( Passeriformes : Hirundinidae ): female holotype and 15 female paratypes ( AMU –SYR.21A) (sec.); POLAND, Olsztyn , 29 July 1999, coll. J. Nowakowski.
Type material deposition. Female holotype deposited in the AMU , paratypes in the AMU, SNM and ZISP .
Non-type material examined. Type host species: 1 female and 4 nymphs ( AMU –SYR.21B) (sec.); ENG- LAND, North Yorkshire, 21 August 1993, coll. B. Nattress. Material deposited in the AMU .
Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of secondaries of Hirundo rustica .
