Type host: Pycnonotus xanthopygos (Ehrenberg) ( Passeriformes : Pycnonotidae ). Type locality: Jordan.
PHYSOGASTRIC FEMALE (holotype and 5 female paratypes). Body worm-shaped outline, 500–590, long. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex flat. Infracapitulum apunctate. Peritremes U-shaped, each medial branch with 4 chambers, each lateral branch with 3–4 chambers. Stylophore 185 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield divided longitudinally into 2 narrow lateral shields, bearing bases of setae ve, si and se. Unpaired median shield absent. Setae vi situated slighly posterior to level of setae ve. Propodonotal setae vi, ve and si lightly beaded, other setae smooth. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1.2:1:1. Setae c1 and se located at same transverse level. Setae d1 situated slightly closer to e2 than to d2. Pygidial shield well developed, densely punctate, deeply concave on anterior margin. Setae f2 1.4 times longer than f1. Setae h1 and f1 subequal in length. Setae h2 8–10 times longer than h1 and f1. Alveoles of setae 3a–3a not coalesced. Genital plate well developed, sparsely punctate. Aggenital setae ag1 situated distinctly posterior to level of setae ag2. Length ratio of setae ag1: ag2: ag3 1:1–1.3:1–1.3. Setae ps1 and ps2 subequal in length, Setae g1 short and thick, situated on genital lobes. Coxal fields I–IV well developed, apunctate. Legs. Most of dorsal setae of legs I and II lightly beaded. Antaxial and paraxial members of claws pair III and IV equal in size. Setae tc’ and tc” of legs III–IV subequal in length. Lengths of setae: vi 95–100, ve 70–80 si 80–85, se 250–280, c1 230–270, c2 205–240, d1 160–175, d2 210–230, e2 165–170, f1 45–55, f2 65–75, h1 30–45, h2 320– 400, ps1 20, ps2 20–25, g1 20–25, ag1 80–95, ag2 100–120, ag3 100–120, tc’III–IV 40, tc”III–IV 40.

Type material examined. Pycnonotus xanthopygos (Ehrenberg) ( Passeriformes : Pycnonotidae ): female holotype (physogastric form) and 7 female (physogastric form) paratypes ( AMU –SYR.192) (bod.); JORDAN, Al- Dhleil near Amman, 19 March 2002, coll. M. Skoracki.
Type material deposition. All type material deposited in the AMU .
Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of body feathers of Pycnonotus xanthopygos.
Distribution. Jordan.
