Type host: Sterna albifrons Pallas ( Charadriiformes : Sternidae ). Type locality: Ukraine.
This species was unavaiable for the present study and its diagnosis is provided based on the original description by Kivganov & Sharafat (1995).
FEMALE. Total body length 1008–1120. Gnathosoma . Each medial branch of peritremes with 3–4 chambers, each lateral branch with 10–12 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield concave on anterior and posterior margins, bearing bases of setae vi, ve and si. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si: c2 1:1.2:2.8:3.5. Setae c1 and se subequal in length, both slightly longer than si. Pygidial shield present. Length ratio of setae f1: f2: h1: h2 1:2:2:2.4. Setae f2 1.3 times longer than c1. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” with 16–18 tines. Setae l’RIII and l’RIV unequal in length. Length ratio of setae: vi 64–80, ve 60–100, si 180–220, c2 200–280, se 180–240, c1 220–260, d2 188–268, e2 180– 260, f2 300–320, h2 360–400, d1 200–228, f1 160–228, h1 320–360.
MALE. Total body length 800–816. Gnathosoma . Each medial branch of peritremes with 3–4 chambers, each lateral branch with 10–12 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si: c2 1:1:3:3.7. Setae se 1.5 times longer than c1 and about 4 times longer than vi. Hysteronotal shield absent. Setae d1, d2 and e2 subequal in length, all half as long as c1. Setae h2 about twice as long as f2. Length of setae: vi 36–40, ve 40–44, si 100–120, c2 130–140, se 144–152, c1 96–100, d1 40–52, d2 48–68, e2 40 – 52, f2 68–87, h2 128–200.
Type material (not examined). Sterna albifrons Pallas ( Charadriiformes : Laridae ): female holotype and paratypes: 8 females and 10 males ( OCU –S–A–40); UKRAINE, Odessa Prov., Tiligulski liman, 13 June 1990, coll. D.A. Kivganov. Type depository. All type material deposited in the OCU and was unavaiable for present study. Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of primary feathers of Sterna albifrons . Distribution. Ukraine .
