Type host: Tringa totanus (Linnaeus) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ). Type locality: France.
FEMALE (1 paratype and 6 specimens from additional host— Tringa glareola from Poland). Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum and stylophore apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 3–4 chambers, each lateral branch with 8–9 chambers. Stylophore constricted posteriorly, 250 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield apunctate, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1. The length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1.7:2.5. Setae si, se, c2, d2, c1, d1 and e2 subequal in length. Setae se and c2 situated at same transverse level. Hysteronotal shield absent, pygidial shield present and well sclerotized, apunctate. Setae f1 and ag2 subequal in length. Seatae f2, h1 and h2 subequal in length. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 10-11 tines. Setae tc”III–IV 1.2 times longer than tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: vi 70, ve 120, si 180, c2 180, se 180, d2 180, e2 200, h2 440, c1 200, d1 200, f1 60, ps1 and ps2 55 g 2 65, ag1>130, ag2 60, ag3 <190, tc’III–IV 75, tc”III–IV 90.
MALE (5 specimens from the additional host species— Tringa glareola from Poland). Total body length 705– 720. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2–3 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–8 chambers. Stylophore constricted posteriorly, 195–200 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield apunctate, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:1.5:2.5–3.5. Length of setae c2, se and c1 variable. Hysteronotal shield reduced to 2 small and apunctate sclerites around bases of setae d1. Setae d1, d2 and e2 subequal in length. Pygidial shield weakly sclerotized, apunctate. Setae h2 5.3–5.5 times longer than f2. Aggenital setae ag1 and ag3 subequal in length, both twice as long as ag2. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Setae 3c 1.2–1.4 times longer than 3b. Legs. Setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 9–11 tines. Setae tc” of legs III–IV 1.5 times longer than tc’III–IV. Length of setae: vi 45–55, ve 75–90, si 135–165, se 55–105, c1 65–100, c2 60–95, d1 25, d2 25–30, e2 25 –30, h2 240–250, f2 45, 1a 130–135, 3a 135–150, ag1 125–150, ag2 55–60, ag3 110–125, l’RII 25, l’RIII 30–35, l’RIV 30–35, tc’III–IV 55, tc”III–IV 75–80, 3b 90–100, 3c 105–135.
Type material examined. Tringa totanus (Linnaeus) (= Tringa calidris in the original description) (Charadriformes: Scolopacidae ): 1 female paratype ( NMNH 36 H4); FRANCE, no other data .

Material deposited in the AMU and ZISP. Calidris minuta (Leisler) (Scolopacidae) : 1 female, 1 male, 1 nymph, 1 larva ( AMU –SYR.108); POLAND, Lubuskie, Slonsk, 23 July 1987, coll. J. Dabert. Material deposited in the AMU. Same host species: 11 females, 4 males and 4 nymphs; KAZAKHSTAN, Kzyl- Orda, Sary-Su river (45°10’00”N, 66°35’00”E), 8 August 1986, coll. S.V. Mironov. Material deposited in the ZISP.
Host range and habitat. Species inhabiting quills of secondary feathers of four scolopacid hosts in Palaearctic region: Tringa totanus , T. glareola , Calidris temmincki and C. minuta .
Distribution. Palaearctic: France, Poland, and Kazakhstan.
