Genus Paterdecolyus Griffini, 1913 铎德螽.
Type species: Paterdecolyus panteli Griffini
A group of apterous or tiny-winged species are included in this genus. They all bear relatively short (compare with macropterous species) processes of sterna, humeral sinus and the shoulder of pronotum absent. The outer tibial tympanum is reduced in some examples. Members are as follows: type species, Onosandrus femoratus (hopefully from Asia), Paterdecolyus dubius , Paterdecolyus magnimaculatus and all the species under Apteranabropsis .
Gorochov (2001b) distinguished Apteranabropsis from Paterdecolyus by mesosternal lobes not being protrud- ed apically ( Gorochov, 2001b, Figs. 67~71) together with both tympana of fore tibia present, but in A. guangxiensis , mesosternal lobes are prolonged at apex and also there are distinct tympana on both sides of fore tibia ( Bian & Shi, 2015, Figs. D, E, F, M). The combinations of these two characters we feel are still not sufficient to divide the two genera.
The name ēȅ is simplification of ‘ Ṙứừẘď ’ which is the transliteration of Latin sacerdos in the early time corresponding to pater, and ‘ ª (de)’ to Decoly.
