Occiput without longitudinal carina, but bearing indistinct suture in the middle. Disc of pronotum without flattened hind part, also with central sulcus, humeral sinus absent ( Figs. 2A, B View FIGURE 2 ; 3A, B View FIGURE 3 ). Prosternum unarmed, meso- and metasternum with widely rounded tubercular lobes ( Figs. 2F View FIGURE 2 ; 3G View FIGURE 3 ). Male 9 th abdominal tergite protruded as a short broad lobe in central posterior margin, 10 th abdominal with a pair of distinct barbs, the area between these barbs slightly produced caudally. Male paraprocts elongate and upcurved; cerci simple; subgenital plate thick with a pair of large and swollen styli, narrowly separated ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ~L). Female with well developed ovipositor, curved upwards and arcuate, with smooth margins ( Fig. 3I View FIGURE 3 ).

Type species: Melanabropsis tianmuica View in CoL sp. nov., here designated.

Included species: type species, Anabropsis yanbarensis , Apteranabropsis genetrix and Apteranabropsis murayamai .

Remarks: This new genus is closely related to Paterdecolyus , but differs from the latter and all the other Anabropsini by the unarmed sterna, absence of tibial tympana and characteristic styli. The new genus also shares unarmed sterna with genera of Brachyporini , but differences in male genital characters especially the 10 th abdominal tergite are significant.

Etymology: The generic name from mela plus an affix derived from generic name Anabropsis refers to its glossy black color.
