“ Laomenes amboinensis View in CoL ” species group
Species of this group are characterized by the presence of a long, compressed, straight rostrum with a well-developed dorsal carina bearing 5–7 teeth along the whole length and a convex ventral rostral carina, distally bearing 1 or 2 teeth. Eyestalk stout, cornea subovate with small blunt apical papilla. Epistomial horns sharp and triangular. Lower lacinia of maxillule tapering distally. Pereiopod I with well developed tuft of simple setae at carpo-meral articulation. Pereiopod III with carpus produced distodorsally and overhanging carpopropodal articulation ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 G); propodus with distoventral spines, sometimes very small; dactylus robust or slender, with long, slender, curved unguis; accessory tooth small, turned down or forward. Exopod of uropod with fixed distolateral tooth and mobile spine.
Species included. Laomenes amboinensis ( De Man, 1888) , L. cornutus ( Borradaile, 1915) , L. clarki sp. nov., L. pardus sp. nov.
