Type locality: Italy, Calabria.

Distribution: Italy, Sicily, Corsica, Istria, Dalmatia. According to Harz (1969), the presence of R. neglecta in North Africa is uncertain and could be due to a misidentification of R. korsakovi . Biogeographic zones: Shoreline, Tellian Atlas.

Bioclimatic zones: Humid, subhumid, semiarid.

Records in Algeria: Oran [35°40'N 0°39'W]; Tlemcen [34°52'N 1°18'W] ( Finot 1896). Michelet [36°34'N 4°18'E]; Tizi Ouzou [36°43'N 4°3'E] ( Werner 1914). Forest of Beni Ghobri [36°45'N 4°7'E] ( Hidouche and Amari 2003). Ait Toudert [36°32'N 4°14'E; Akfadou forest [36°41'N 4°34'E] (Mohamed Sahnoun pers. obs.).
