Distribution. Cuba, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Hispaniola, Jamaica. Bermuda; cosmopolitan. Notes. A pest of cocoa, coffee, and dozens of other dried plant materials ( Childers and Woodruff 1980). Many names have been applied worldwide to this pest ( Valentine 2006). A generalist feeder on many dried and living plant tissues.
