Anarsia Zeller View in CoL is defined by the following morphological characters: the vestigial (with a few exception) 3rd segment of labial palpus in the male (normal in the female), and the hindwing with a broad expansion of the anterior part of its costal margin. The genitalia are characterized by having asymmetrical valvae with numerous modified setae on their inner surface, and often with a long sclerotized process, and the lack of gnathos.
