Subgenus Ammathella Volynkin, 2019
Ammatho (Ammathella) — In: Volynkin, Huang & Ivanova 2019, Ecologica Montenegrina View in CoL 26: 19, figs 7, 8, 107, 163 (Type species: Barsine garo Volynkin, 2018 View in CoL , by original designation).
Diagnosis. Externally adults of the subgenus Ammathella display a similar forewing pattern with Moorasura Volynkin & Huang, 2019, but the genitalia of both sexes are typical for the genus Ammatho . The male genital capsule of Ammathella is characterized by the narrow and elongated valva, medial costal process weakly sclerotized, short, swollen and strongly broadened basally, and distal costal process small with apex rounded. The aedeagus vesica of Ammathella is rather unique within the genus by bearing cluster of strong and short cornuti on the ventral side of it. The female genitalia of Ammathella are characterized by the presence lateral ostial ligula and appendix bursae small and directed latero-inwards ( Volynkin et al. 2019b).
Distribution. Species of the subgenus are known from Northeastern India, Northeastern Myanmar and Xizang Autonomous Prefecture of Southwestern China ( Volynkin et al. 2019b, the current study).
