Comments: The description of Nereis tenuipalpa fits the definition of the genus Paraleonnates proposed by Khlebovitch & Wu (1962). The species may be a senior synonym of Leonnates bolus Hutchings & Reid, 1991 , which occurs in mangroves of northern Australia although this needs to be confirmed by examination of type materials.
