Description of Weissella paramesenteroides LPB View in CoL 0239

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated, coc- coid-shaped, and facultative anaerobic. Colonies are circular, entire, smooth, convex, and creamy white colored after 3 days on MRS at 30℃. Negative for oxidase. Does not produce indole. Dose not possess activity of urease. Does not hydrolyze esculin and gelatin. Acidifies glucose, lactose (weakly), saccharose, maltose, salicin (weakly), xylose (weakly), arabinose, raffinose and trehalose, but not mannitol, glycerol, cellobiose, mannose, melezitose, sorbitol, or rhamnose. Strain LPB0239 (= NIBRBAC000502430) was isolated from mouse gut, Daejeon University, Korea. The GenBank accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence is MK002980.
