Distribution: It occurs in Asia, Africa and the Americas where it occurs from Mexico to Argentina ( Vanni 2001); in Brazil it occurs throughout the country with the exception of the Distrito Federal ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu area.

Reproductive period: According to Lima et al. (2014) it flowers and fruits throughout the year. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in December and February.

Diagnostic characteristics: Prostrate subshrubs with pinnate, trifoliolate leaves, lanceolate stipules that are not concrescent, whitish-lilac flowers, loment with 2–5 oblong articles.

Conservation: Naturalized-NE.
