De distribución panamericana, en Argentina su límite sur se encuentra en la zona norte de la Patagonia, en la Argentina se han registrado ocho géneros y 26 especies (Molineri, 2006; Domínguez et al., 2021). Para la provincia estaba registrado un solo género y especie Leptohyphes eximius Eaton que presentó una amplia distribución registrándose en 13 localidades
