De distribución cosmopolita, en Argentina encontramos 16 especies en 3 géneros ( Jäch y Balke, 2008). Para la provincia Perkins y Archangelsky (2002) citan a Gymnochthebius ischigualasto Perkins & Archangelsky y se colectaron adultos de Ochthebius (Angiochthebius) jensenhaarupi Knisch que constituye un nuevo registro para la provincia.
