Diagnosis. All legs black except apex of fore and mid femora and base of fore and mid tibiae somewhat yellow ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ). Ventral lobe of surstylus with expanded apex, somewhat wide base and thin at middle.
Description. Male. Body length 3.7–3.9 mm, wing length 3.5–3.7 mm. Head metallic green, with pale gray pollinosity. Ocellar tubercle distinct. Eyes approaching but not contiguous on frons; face rather wide with parallel lateral margins. Hairs and bristles on head black; postocular bristles (including posterior ventral hairs) somewhat pale. Antennal scape and pedicel black; first flagellomere ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ) brown, subtriangular (about 1.6 times wider than long); arista dark brown, with short basal segment. Proboscis dark yellow with pale hairs; palpus black with 4–5 black bristles. Thorax metallic green, with pale gray pollinosity. Mesonotum and scutellum brilliant metallic green with pale gray pollinosity. Hairs and bristles on thorax black; 5 strong dc, 6–7 irregularly paired acr; 1 long humeral bristle, 2 npl; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles. Proepisternum with 1 long black bristle on lower part and 1 short black bristle on upper part.
All legs black except apex of fore and mid femora and base of fore and mid tibiae somewhat yellow. Hairs and bristles on legs black. Fore coxa with 4 anterior bristles; mid coxa with 5–6 short anterior bristles; hind coxa with 1 outer bristle at base. Fore femur with rows of short av and pv; mid femur with 3–4 pv apically; hind femur with 3– 4 rows of bristles on ventral side. Mid tibia with 1 ad at basal 1/2, apically with 3–4 bristles; hind tibia with 2 ad at basal 1/6 and 1/2, 5–6 pd, apically with 3–4 bristles. All tarsi with thin and long claws, and enlarged pulvilli about as long as tarsomere 5. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs LI 5.5: 3.2: 1.5: 1.0: 0.8: 0.8; LII 7.0: 3.5: 1.9: 1.2: 0.9: 0.9; LIII 8.5: 3.0: 2.2: 1.4: 0.9: 0.9. Wing hyaline, tinged brown; veins dark brown, R4+5 and M1 nearly parallel apically; CuAx ratio 0.35. Squama brown with long dark brown hairs. Halter pale yellow. Abdomen brownish black, with pale gray pollinosity; hairs and bristles on abdomen black. Tg1–5 with long bristles on posterior margin; st5 without clusters of bristles; st8 with 4 strong bristles. Male genitalia ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9 – 10 ): Epandrium about as long as wide; lateral epandrial lobe thin and long, bearing 2 bristles at apex; ventral lobe of surstylus with expanded apex and somewhat wide base, thin at middle; dorsal lobe of surstylus straight and long; cercus short, with weak ventral lobe. Female. Unknown.
Specimens examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, China, Tibet, Gongbujiada, Bahe, 29°87′N, 93°67′E, 3122 m, 2013. VII.15, X.Y. Liu. PARATYPE: 4♂, China, Tibet, Linzhi, Institute of plateau ecology, 29°39′N, 95°20′E, 2995 m, 2014. V.27 –. VII.27, by water yellow disc.
Distribution. China (Tibet).
Remarks. The new species is similar to Diaphorus anatoli Negrobov in the similar thin and long lateral epandrial lobe bearing 2 bristles at apex, but can be separated from the latter by the absence of cluster of bristles on sternite 5. In D. anatoli , sternite 5 has two clusters of bristles ( Negrobov 1986).
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the locality of the holotype, Bahe.
