Eustala tridentata ( C.L. Koch, 1838)

Argyopes tridentatus C. L. Koch, 1838: 41, figures 363, 364. Female and male (immature) from Brazil (presumably lost, not examined).

Epeira argyopes ; Walckenaer, 1841: 132.

Eustala tridentata ; Simon, 1895: 795; Caporiacco, 1954: 92, figures 18, 18a; Roewer 1942: 767; WSC 2017.

Note. The description, diagnosis, and illustrations provided by C.L. Koch (1838) and Caporiacco (1954) are not enough to identify this species. The type material appears to be lost—it could not be found in BMNH, NHMW, MSNV, MHNLS, ZMHB. Therefore, we considered it a nomen dubium.
