Saphonecrus taiwanensis Pujade-Villar nomen novum

SaphonecruS lithocarpii Schwéger & Melika, 2015 [non SaphonecruS lithocarpi Pujade-Villar, Guo, Wang & Chen, 2015 ]: the name ‘ lithocarpii ’ is a junior primary homonym of SaphonecruS lithocarpi Pujade-Villar, Guo, Wang & Chen, 2015 .

Pujade-Villar et al. (2015) deScribed in September a new SpecieS from leaf gallS ( Fig. 6d ) collected in China on Lithocarpus harlandii named Saphonecrus lithocarpi Pujade-Villar, Guo, Wang & Chen, 2015 . Several monthS later, in December of the Same year, Schwéger et al., (2015a) deScribed from Taiwan in bud and leaf gallS on Lithocarpus glabra (in bud gallS) and L. konishii (in leaf gallS) the SpecieS S. lithocarpii Schwéger & Melika, 2015 . In accordance with Article 58.14 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ZNC; Fourth Edition, 1999), Specific nameS with the endingS «-i» or «-ii» are the Same, and therefore, S. lithocarpii iS a homonym of S. lithocarpi and needS to be replaced according to articleS 52.2 and 23.3.5 (NZC). The name Saphonecrus taiwanensis Pujade-Villar nomen novum iS propoSed to replace Saphonecrus lithocarpii Schwéger & Melika, 2015 . See alSo commentS of S. lithocarpi (below).
