Ascorhynchus seticauda Stock, 1991 ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 )

Stock, 1991a, 134–137, figs 7–8.

Material: Solomon Islands, 1 female (MNHNPy 1034), station CP1742, N/ O 'Alis' Campagne SALOMON 1, 11º29.4'S 159º57.4'E, 366–421 m, 23/09/2001; coll. Bouchet, Dayat, Warén, RicherIRD.

Remarks: Previously known only from New Caledonia, at depths from 600 to 830 m ( Stock 1991a; 1997). The present specimen, somewhat less hirsute than the type but with the characteristic large, setose abdomen, is from shallower waters. A detail not mentioned by Stock (loc. cit.) is the fine structure of the tips of the long setae found distally on the longer leg articles: in particular, those of the distal crown of the first tibia (where complete) are minutely and sparsely setulose along their length, with an anaxial, pointed distal taper ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
