Tetra formosae n. sp. ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 )
Female: (n = 12) 160 long, 45 wide, 40 thick; light yellow in color. Gnathosoma 15, projecting obliquely down. Prodorsal shield 38 long, 38 wide; prodorsal shield with frontal lobe; median, admedian and submedian lines present, admedian and submedian lines connected and forms network. Dorsal tubercles on rear shield margin, 24 apart, scapular setae (sc) 7 projecting posteriorly. Sternal line present. Coxal area with short lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 5, proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 12, proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 30. Legs I 30 long, femur 9, basiventral femoral setae (bv) 10; genu 5 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 18 long; tibia 7, paraxial tibial setae (l') 6, setae located 1/3 from dorsal base; tarsus 6 long; tarsal empodium simple, 7rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Legs II 28 long, femur 8, basiventral femoral setae (bv) 6; genu 4 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 5 long; tibia 6; tarsus 6 long; tarsal empodium simple, 7 rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Dorsal opisthosoma with 28 annuli, with obscure spiny microtubercles on rear annular margins, ventrally with 54 microtuberculate annuli. Setae c2 20 on ventral annulus 9; setae d 38 on ventral annulus 22; setae e 10 on ventral annulus 38; setae f 15 on 5th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 4 long. Female genitalia 13 long, 18 wide, coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 10 long.
Male: (n = 2) 150 long, 38 wide; genitalia 5 long, 15 wide, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 15 long.
Type data: Holotype, female, from Lespedeza formosa (Vog.) Koehne (Leguminosae) , Baotianman, Neixiang County, Henan Province, P.R. China, 23 July 2004, coll. X.F. Xue. Paratypes, 11 females and 2 males, with the same data as holotype. Relation to host: Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed. Etymology: Derived from the specific epithet of the type host plant, formosa . Note: This species is similar to Tetra shiheziensis Wang & Lu, 2004 , but can be differentiated by the prodorsal shield with complete median line, empodium 7rayed, solenidion tapered and dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles.
