Tetra lycopersici n. sp. ( Fig.5 )

Female: (n = 11) Body fusiform, 198 long, 60 wide, 65 thick. Gnathosoma 20, projecting obliquely down. Prodorsal shield 38 long, 58 wide; median line and admedian lines short, connected at basal 1/6, admedian lines formed a large cell, submedian lines present. Dorsal tubercles on rear shield margin, 40 apart, scapular setae (sc) 14 projecting posteriorly. Coxal area with short lines; sternal line present, anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 8, proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 15, proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 40. Legs I 35 long, femur 10, basiventral femoral setae (bv) 12; genu 5 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 30 long; tibia 8, paraxial tibial setae (l') 5, located 1/4 from dorsal base; tarsus 7 long; tarsal empodium simple, 4­rayed, tarsal solenidion knobbed. Legs II 30 long, femur 8, basiventral femoral setae (bv) 14; genu 5 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 7 long; tibia 5; tarsus 7 long; tarsal empodium simple, 4­rayed, tarsal solenidion knobbed. Dorsal opisthosoma with 27 annuli, smooth, ventrally with 93 microtuberculate annuli. Setae c2 25 on ventral annulus 11; setae d 65 on ventral annulus 26; setae e 16 on ventral annulus 41; setae f 26 on 6th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 absent. Female genitalia 15 long, 23 wide, coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum (3a) 15 long.

Male: (n = 1) 175 long, 60 wide; genitalia 7 long, 20 wide, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 11 long.

Type date: Holotype, female, from Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. (Solanaceae) , Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, P.R. China, 30 May 2004, coll. X.­F. Xue. Paratypes, 10 females and 1 male, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host: Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.

Etymology: Derived from the generic name of the type host plant, Lycopersicon .

Note: This species is similar to Tetra cleomis Kuang, 1991 , but can be differentiated by the median line only present at base and female coverflap without transverse lines at base (with three transverse lines in T. cleomis ).
