Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Kuwait ( Al-Houty 1989, 1997 as Dienoplus formosus ), Oman ( Guichard 1980 as D. formosus ), Saudi Arabia ( Gadallah et al. 2013), United Arab Emirates ( Hamer 1986, 1988; Gillett & Gillett 2005; Howarth & Gillett 2008).

Extralimital distribution: Algeria, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Libya, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
