Description. Body yellowish, apical patch on vertex small. Basal triangles on mesonotum indistinct.

Male 2S abdominal apodemes (Fig. 10j) exceeding anterior margin of 4th sternite. Anal tube appendage (Fig. 10c) broadened and rounded apically, similar to that of S. falcata sp. n.

Pygofer side (Figs 10a, b) long, narrowed distally, with microsetae at dorso-caudal angle. Subgenital plate (Fig. 10a) with continuous row of microsetae along dorsal margin from near base to apex then to midlength of ventral margin, with about 3 macrosetae medially. Style (Fig. 10e, f) with inner protrusion shifted basad, apex curved laterad sharply in dorsal view. Connective (Fig. 10g) with manubrium long but narrow. Aedeagal shaft (Figs 10h, i) short and slim, with pair of slim process apically directed laterad and one short spinous process at tip directed dorsad; preatrial process slim, narrowing from broad base to near base, straightly directed dorsad, apex smooth.

Measurement. length male 3.45mm.

Material examined. Holotype: ♂, China: Yunnan Prov., Lancang, 1100m, 2 xi 1999, coll. Qin Daozheng.

Deposition. Entomological Museum, NWAFU, Yangling, China.

Remarks. The new species is similar to S. candela sp. nov., but can be distinguished by the much shorter abdominal apodemes, the anal tube appendage rounded apically, and the aedeagal shaft with three processes apically and the preatrial process narrower.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word “ triacanthus ”, referring to the aedeagal shaft with three spinous processes at apex.
