The Delia coarctata species group

In this species group, which equals the ‘ Delia coarctata superspecies’ of Griffiths (1991), belong four presently accepted species: D. coarctata (Fallén) , D. montana (Malloch) , D. latissima (Fan, Ma & Li) and D.

coarctoides , new species. I agree with Griffiths (op. cit.) that the monophyly of the group appears well supported by the characteristic shape of the long surstyli that in caudal view are broad at base but turn very slen der distally ( Figs. 3–4).

The following practical key to the males and females of the Delia coarctata species group uses characters that are normally visible without dissection.
