Note. Although the type material of this species was not examined, the species is here diagnosed based on conspecific material taken near the type locality deposited in the Instituto Butantan collection.

Diagnosis. Males of Masteria manauara differ from those of other species in the slender and elongated embolus, with narrow base ( Fig. 23B–C View FIGURE 23 ). Females resemble those of M. petrunkevitchi and M. sabrinae n. sp. in the unilobed spermathecae, but differ from them in the long and coiled ducts ( Fig. 23E–F View FIGURE 23 ).
Description. Male and female described by Bertani et al. (2013: 438). The following characters are included: eyes disposition in MEV ( Fig. 23A View FIGURE 23 ). Male palp with short tibia, twice length of cymbium, with ventral depression and retrolateral group of 12̄14 short tactile setae ( Fig. 23C View FIGURE 23 ). Cymbium as long as wide, with three apical spines. Palpal bulb globose, embolus three to four times length of tegulum and very thin ( Fig. 23B–C View FIGURE 23 ). Female spermathecae unilobate, a dense glandular region ( Fig. 23E–F View FIGURE 23 ).
