Basionym : Aerides mitrata Rchb. View in CoL f., Bot. Zeitung ( Berlin ) 22: 415, 1864. Type :— MYANMAR. Without locality (? Mon State : Mawlamyine District), cult. Day s.n. (holotype: W-R 38709 ) .

Specimens examined:— MANDALAY. Pyinoolwin District : 915 m, 25 May 1913, Lace s.n. ( K) . WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type. Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 88), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Myanmar and Thailand.
