Phaius wallichii Lindl. View in CoL in N.Wallich, Pl. Asiat. Rar. 2: 46, 1831
Specimens examined:— UPPER MYANMAR. Griffith s.n., Kew Distr. 5292 ( K, P) . MANDALAY. Pyinoolwin District: fide Nyan Tun (2014: 377); Myingyan District : 12 May 2005, Khin Myo Htwe 29 ( TNS [s]) , fide Tanaka et al. (2015: 85).
Distribution:— India, the eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern and southern China.
Notes:— Previously included in P. tankervilleae but recently resurrected because of distinct floral characteristics by Cribb et al. (2004), who indicted Myanmar but cited no specimens. The above-cited Griffith collection was included with P. tankervilleae , and its referral to P. wallichii needs confirmation.
