Specimen examined:— KACHIN. Putao District : 3655 m, 8 Jul 1931, Kingdon-Ward 9765 ( BM) .

Distribution:— Northern Myanmar and southwestern China.

Notes:— A new record for Myanmar. In his revision of the Asian species, Efimov said: “This species is similar to P. nematocaulon and may be conspecific with it. The main difference is that P. handel-mazzettii has a larger flower” ( Efimov 2016: 154).
