Basionym : Saccolabium bipunctatum C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. View in CoL f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 145, 1874. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, icon. Parish 280 (holotype: K) .

Homotypic synonyms: Cleisostoma bipunctatum View in CoL (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) Hook.f., Fl. Brit. India 6: 73, 1890. Gastrochilus bipunctatus View in CoL (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 661, 1891.

Specimen examined:— MON. Mawlamyine District : type. Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 89), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Southern Myanmar, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.
