Heterotypic synonym: Hetaeria helferi Hook. f., Fl. Brit. India 6: 115, 1890. Type:— MYANMAR. Tenasserim: Helfer 464, Kew Distr. 5343 (holotype: K) .
Specimen examined:— TENASSERIM. Type. Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 81), but we have not seen material from this area .
Distribution:— Sri Lanka, India, the eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, southern Japan and Malesia to New Guinea, northern Australia and the islands of the western Pacific.
