Distribution:— Sri Lanka, India, the eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, southern China, Taiwan and Malesia to the islands of the western Pacific.
Liparis bistriata C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 155, 1874. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish 80 (holotype: K; icon. W)

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District: fide Aung et al. (2020: 89); Myitkyina District : 1800 m, 16 Jun 1929, Sue Koe 10109 ( K, RAF) . MON. Mawlamyine District : type. Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 82), but we have not seen material from this area.
Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and southwestern China.
