The taxonomy of the mainland Asian species of this genus is unsatisfactorily understood, as indicated by the deeply contrasting concepts published in in the last few decades ( Seidenfaden 1983, Chen et al. 2009, Pedersen et al. 2014). A thorough revision is much needed.
