Habenaria amplexicaulis Rolfe ex Downie, Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew 1925: 417, 1925 View in CoL
Specimens examined:— MAGWAY. Gangaw District : 305 m, 20 Nov 2011, Ling Shein Man 087869 ( MBK) . MANDALAY. Pyinoolwin District : 500−800 m, 8 Nov 1999, Murata et al. 334 ( MBK) .
Distribution:— Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and possibly southwestern China.
Notes:— This is a new record for Myanmar. However, H. amplexicaulis belongs to a group of similar species in the H. digitata complex, which is centred on the Indian Subcontinent and differs from the other species only in minor characters. Seidenfaden (1977: 74) pointed out that a study of the entire group needs to be undertaken to evaluate the status of its taxa. The similar Thai species H. thailandica Seidenf. was recently merged with a member of this species complex, H. gibsonii Hook. f. var. foetida Blatt. & McCann ( Kumar et al. 2018: 75) .
