Pelatantheria insectifera View in CoL (Rchb.f.) Ridl., J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 32: 373, 1896

Basionym: Sarcanthus insectifer Rchb. View in CoL f., Bot. Zeitung (Berlin) 15: 159, 1857.

Specimens examined:— MANDALAY. Mandalay District: Swinhoe 79 ( K) . SHAN. Lashio District : 565 m, 25 Jan 1996, Meyer s.n., photo, fide SOF (2019) . MON. Mawlamyine District: Feb 1869, Parish 267 ( K, W-R 53612 + icon.). Also reported from Bago and Tanintharyi regions by Kress et al. (2003: 85), but we have not seen material from these areas.

Distribution:— India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.

Note:— The type came from imported plants grown in Germany; it is not Parish 267 .
