Specimen examined:— CHIN. Mindat District : fide Kang et al. (2017a: 86) .

Distribution:— Tropical and subtropical Africa, Asia and Australia to the islands of the southwestern Pacific.

Note:— Previously well known as N. crispata and N. crociformis , N. simplex is the older name. It is not a synonym of N. petraea (Afzel. ex Sw.) Summerh. , which would otherwise have priority ( Ormerod 2017: 346).
