Basionym: Epidendrum ensifolium View in CoL L., Sp. Pl.: 954, 1753.

Myingyan District : 3 Jun 2005, Tanaka et al. 036213 ( MBK) ; same loc., 3 Jun 2006, Tsujita et al. 036209 & 036214 ( TNS [s]); same loc., Khin Myo Htwe 118 ( TNS [s]) . SHAN. Taunggyi District : May 1932, Dickason 1157 ( AMES) .

Distribution:— Northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the Philippines.

Notes:— The collections from Mandalay Region were identified by Tanaka et al. (2011: 163) and referred to subspecies ensifolium . The photograph they supplied shows a flower that reminds us of certain forms of C. tortisepalum Fukuy.
