Homotypic synonym: Pleione micrantha (Lindl.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 680, 1891.

Heterotypic synonym: Coelogyne papagena Rchb. f., Bot. Zeitung (Berlin) 20: 214, 1862. Type:— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, imp. & cult. Low s.n. (not located) .

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District: 1525 m, Mar 1962, Keenan et al. 3821 ( A, E, K); same loc., 490 m, 26 Feb 2007, Kurzweil & Saw Lwin KL 2266 ( SING) . CHIN. Mindat District : 1550 m, 26 Feb 2007, Fujikawa 050120 ( MBK) . MON. Mawlamyine District: type; same loc., cult. Low s.n. ( K). Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 70), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar and possibly Vietnam and southwestern China.
