Heterotypic synonyms: Coelogyne fuliginosa Lodd. ex Hook., Bot. Mag. 75: t. 4440, 1849. Pleione fuliginosa (Lodd. ex Hook.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 680, 1891.

Specimens examined:— BORDER AREA NAY PYI TAW – SHAN. Fide Aung et al. (2020: 72). MON. Mawlamyine District: Lobb 512 ( W); same loc., Parish 160 ( K); same loc., Parish 243 (not located), fide Parish (1883: 196); same loc., 1863, Parish s.n. ( K). Also reported from Sagaing Region and Kayin State by Kress et al. (2003: 70), and the conspecific Coelogyne fuliginosa was reported from Bago and Mandalay regions by Kress et al. (2003: 70). We have not seen material from these areas.

Distribution:— The Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern China.

Coelogyne parishii Hook., Bot. Mag. View in CoL 88: t. 5323, 1862. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Parish s.n. (lectotype: K, designated by Clayton 2017: 61)

Homotypic synonym: Pleione parishii (Hook.) Kuntze, Revis. View in CoL Gen . Pl. 2: 680, 1891.

Specimens examined:— KAYIN. Thaungyin Valley: 120 m, Baldwin 13568 ( K); same loc., Mar 1909, Lace s.n. ( E) . MON. Type. WITHOUT LOCALITY. Illegible s.n. ( K). Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 70), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Myanmar, Thailand and Indochina.
