Specimens examined:— SHAN. Taunggyi District : 1370 m, 24 Jan 1957, Egerod B-23 ( AMES, K) .

Distribution:— Eastern Myanmar and Thailand.

Note:— Govaerts et al. (2020) considered this a synonym of D. compactum .

Dendrobium xanthophlebium Lindl., Gard. Chron. 1857: 268, 1857 . Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, Lobb 176 (holotype: K-LINDL)

Homotypic synonym: Callista xanthophlebia (Lindl.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 655, 1891.

Heterotypic synonym: Dendrobium marginatum Bateman ex Hook. f., Bot. Mag. 90: t. 5454, 1864, nom. illeg. [non Teijsm. & Binn. 1853]. Type:— MYANMAR. Mon State: Mawlamyine District , Parish 133 (holotype: K) .

Specimens examined:— MON. Mawlamyine District : types. Also reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 76), but we have not seen material from this area.

Distribution:— Southern Myanmar, Thailand and possibly Laos.

Note:— See Tay (2005: 82−83, 96), announcing rediscovery of this species.
