Homotypic synonyms: Dendrobium densiflorum Lindl. var. farmeri (Paxton) Regel, Gartenflora 23: 67, 1874. Callista farmeri (Paxton)

Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 654, 1891. Heterotypic synonyms: Dendrobium farmeri Paxton var. albiflorum C.Morren , Belgique Hort. 10: 322, 1860. Dendrobium densiflorum Lindl. var. parviflorum Regel, Gartenflora 23: 67, 1874. Type:— MYANMAR. Without locality: cult. material

(holotype: not located).

Specimens examined:— TENASSERIM. Parish 14 A (not located), fide Parish (1883: 192). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type. Reported from Mon State and Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 73), but we have not seen material from these areas .

Distribution:— The central Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and Peninsular Malaysia.

Notes:— Regel seems to have based his variety ‘ parviflorum ’ on plate 4659 in Curtis’s Botanical Magazine, and this could perhaps be chosen as lectotype if no type material exists .
