Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District: Feb−Mar 2007 or Mar 2009, Kurzweil & Saw Lwin KL s.n. [no. 1] ( SING [s]); same loc., 845 m, 20 Mar 2009, Kurzweil & Saw Lwin KL 2600 ( SING [s]); Myitkyina District : without collector s.n. (not located, possibly CAL), fide Pottinger & Prain (1898: 271) [as Aerides fieldingii ] . KAYAH. Loikaw District: Tanaka et al. MY5039 ( TNS, photo seen). TENASSERIM. Parish 63 (not located), fide Parish (1883: 198; as A. affinis var. rosea ). WITHOUT LOCALITY. 9 Mar 1972, Ohtsuka s.n. ( TI). Also reported from Mandalay Region by Saw Lwin (2007: 250), but we have not seen any material from this area.
Distribution:— Eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern and southern China.
