Basionym: Monomeria crabro C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. View in CoL f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 143, 1874. Type:— MYANMAR. Kayin State: Dawna Range , 915−1220 m, Parish 312 (lectotype W-R, designated by Clayton 2017: 65; isolectotype: K) .
Heterotypic synonym: Monomeria barbata Lindl. View in CoL , Gen . Sp. Orchid. Pl.: 61, 1830.
Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Putao District: 915−1220 m, 29 Nov 1931, Kingdon-Ward 10181 ( BM); same loc., 1525–1830 m, 16 Nov 1937, Kingdon-Ward 13464 ( BM); same loc., Saw Lwin SL s.n. ( SING). KAYIN. Dawna Range : type. WITHOUT LOCALITY. Boxall s.n. ( K). Reported from Mon State and Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 83; as Monomeria barbata ), but we have not seen any material from these areas.
Distribution:— The Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern China and Peninsular Malaysia.
Note:— Previously well known as Monomeria barbata .
