Distribution:— Northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern China and Taiwan.

Bulbophyllum penicillium C.S.P.Parish & Rchb. f., Trans. Linn. Soc. London 30: 151, 1874. Type :— MYANMAR. Mon State : Mawlamyine District, 1870, Parish 303 (lectotype K, designated by Clayton 2017: 65; isolectotype: W-R; icon. W-R 2279 )

Homotypic synonym: Phyllorkis penicillium (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) Kuntze, Revis. Gen . Pl. 2: 677, 1891.

[no. 10] ( SING); same loc., Dec 2015, Saw Lwin KSL 1088 & 1094 ( RAF) . MON. Mawlamyine District : type. WITHOUT LOCALITY. Cult. Glasnevin Bot. Gard. s.n. ( K). Reported from Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 67), but we have not seen any material from this area.

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar and southwestern China.

Note:— A record from Thailand is referable to Bulbophyllum lanuginosum J.J.Verm.

Homotypic synonym: Trias picta (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) C.S.P.Parish ex Hemsl., Gard. Chron., n.s., 18: 427, 1882.

Specimens examined:— TANINTHARYI. Dawei District: Kurzweil s.n., photo; Myeik District : type. Also reported from Mon State by Kress et al. (2003: 89; as Trias picta ), but we have not seen any material from this area.

Distribution:— Southern Myanmar and Thailand.
