Specimens examined:— CHIN. Mindat District : type; same loc., 1550 m, 1 Mar 2007, Fujikawa 050168 ( MBK) .

Distribution:— The eastern Himalayas, northeastern India, western Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southwestern China and Taiwan.

Notes:— Previously well known as Sunipia andersonii but recently transferred to Bulbophyllum , in which the name was already occupied. Sunipia andersonii is here considered conspecific with Ione sasakii (also Seidenfaden 1986: 172, Chen et al. 2009: 442), which is the oldest available name.
