Polyxenus fasciculatus (Say 1821) View in CoL NEW PARK RECORD
Taxonomic note: Nearctic polyxenid species-level determinations are based on the number of sensory cones on the 6th antennomere. This character is variable (P. l a g u r u s has 4–6 cones while P. fasciculatus has 7–17; see Condé 1996), and can be very difficult to see with a dissecting microscope. Scanning electron microscopy was utilized to determine this species.
